Mental Health: Two Hotlines Are Now Available For Psychological Support

Mental health is just as important as our physical and it is actually crucial to maintain a positive attitude with everything happening at the moment, the Ministry of health has realized that and is now providing citizens with two hotlines for mental health support.

Special hotlines have been dedicated to offer mental health guidance to citizens during this COVID-19 crisis, the ministry made the announcement yesterday.

The two hotlines allocated to the General Secretariat for Mental Health (080-8880700) and (0220816831), are here to provide us with the psychological support we so desperately need in a time like this.

“The feeling of fear and anxiety caused by the spread of the coronavirus is normal during this period, but it should be overcome to avoid any negative psychological effects that may result especially for children and the elderly.” The ministry explained in a statement.

Moreover, the ministry has also given several tips on how to overcome stress and anxiety during this tough phase, and to help us get through the period of precautionary measures.

These tips included following a balanced and healthy diet, getting enough sleep, working out, refraining from smoking and most importantly communicating with close friends virtually and maintaining healthy relationships online.

We encourage practicing these simple but crucial steps, which are designed to alleviate the severity of the tension during this period.

We also encourage you not to hesitate in seeking medical help and talking freely about your feelings of distress.
