Spring 2018 Color Trends are Here!

We all know how the fashion industry works; one day you’re in and the next you’re out. Colors are no different. When talking fashion, new colors are being dropped upon us almost every season; certain trendy colors, a guideline that some very up to date personas like to abide by. We gathered all the colors that are supposed to be the “IT” colors this Spring, just so you can make amends with fashion this year!

Below are 2018’s color trends:

1. Purple: 

China Daily

As we’ve witnessed earlier this year, Pantone decided to name “Ultra Violet” the color of the year 2018 and so, purple, violet and lavender are really in at the moment.

2. Scarlett

Scarlett, Cherry Tomato and Tomato Red are really in right now because of how bold and eye catching they are.

3. Military Green

Let’s be real, this color’s always been one of the coolest. It can never go away due to the fact that it’s considered a ‘neutral’.

4. Brown


Apparently, bold browns like the color chocolate brown, are back in fashion this Spring!

5. Tangerine


Looks like it’s all about striking colors this year!

6. Coconut Milk

Don’t you just love its name so much, you wanna go out there and buy yourself something that matches exactly the color above just so you can tell people that you’re wearing “Coconut Milk” today?

7. Powder Blue

Work that Powder/Sky Blue like Cinderella, baby!

Dina El Sherbiny Under Fire For Wearing a Revealing Dress in Riyadh

Dina El Sherbiny has caused a storm of controversy in Saudi Arabia after showing up to the Joy Awards, that was held last night in Riyadh, wearing a revealing single-arm dress.

The young actress was accompanying her partner Amr Diab to the awards ceremony for support, and the couple certainly turned heads but it was El-Sherbiny’s look that angered many.

The actress appeared in a short black dress, single-armed and exposed, people of Saudi Arabia quickly took it to social media to criticize her poor choice of clothing and accused her of lack of decency.

It’s true that women in Saudi Arabia are obliged to wear abayas, and even though celebrities don’t really have to conform with this rule, many prefer to cover up as a sign of respect to their rules.

The attacks are continuing with some complaining that rules are only applied on Saudi women, others are accusing her of disrespecting their traditions and rules.

Others demanded from chairperson of the GEA Turki Al-Sheikh, to have the same rules applied on Dina and to prevent her from entering the Kingdom again…

We’ll see how this goes, and hope that citizens calm down soon.

Palermo collaborated with the Egyptian duo, Monaz and Aya Abdel Raouf to create a selection of their distinctive handbags from their autumn/winter 2019 collection for the platform.

The online platform highlights Palermo’s most-loved accessories labels and Okhtein is the only Middle Eastern brand to make the list, along high-profile brands such as Santoni, Elena Ghisellini and Benedetta Bruzziches.

Fashionistas can now have access to shop the iconic pieces of Okhtein through the site.

The Five Egyptian Women Who Made it To Forbes’ List of ‘Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands’

Forbes Middle East has listed the most influential and powerful female figures in its 2019 edition of ‘Women Behind Middle Eastern Brands’, the list of women who were able to leave their marks by launching their own brands and it includes five Egyptian super women that we all know and come to love very dearly for their creativity and uniqueness in designs.

Starting with of course the iconic jewelry designer Azza Fahmy, alongside her daughters Amina and Fatma Ghali, they have been ranked the fifth spot and are the highest ranked Egyptians on the prestigious list.

In the 22nd spot, again comes as no surprise at all, are the sister Aya Abdel Raoufand and Mounaz Abdel Raouf of Okhtein, and in the 25th spot and third in Egypt is Farida Temraza for her fashion brand Temraza.

Marmar Halim comes in the 26th sport for her fashion brand, while Abeer Otaiba, founder of Semsem clothing brand, comes in the 43rd spot and fifth in Egypt.

 

 

Other we’re proud to see on the list and consider them as our own even if they don’t hold the Egyptian passport are Dima Rashed, founder of Dima Jewelry and Jude Benhalim, the incredible brand that we have all come to love!
