Ways to Fall Back To Work Routine After This Long Break
It has been indeed a long vacation with the weekend following the Eid holiday and if you’re feeling like you need a vacation from your vacation, don’t worry it is not just you.
Days of relaxation and unwinding followed by emails and deadlines are certainly hard to give in to, that is why we have created the following list to help you survive the inevitable without suffering from a meltdown.
1- Make a to do list
Take your time to plan out how your day will go, the best way is to create a to do list of all the things you need to get done with their deadlines, and then start prioritizing the tasks. Start with old tasks before jumping straight to new ones that will only make you feel overwhelmed. Also, choose the small tasks that can take less time and at the same time can boost your confidence.
Remember to make the to do list colorful and bright!
2- Boost that caffeine level
The only perk is that Ramadan is over and we can finally have our morning coffee and lunch breaks. So your best shot to stay alert is to have coffee that will help you get back into the groove of things.
3- Fix your sleep schedule
One of the many perks of having a long holiday is that you get to sleep in because you spent the previous night binge watching series. This unfortunately has to come to an end, so don’t give in to a nap and try to sleep as early as you can.
This will help you wake up refreshed and less grumpy, and if you’re having trouble falling asleep, try to have some tea or meditate.
4- Resume the routine
It seems hard at the moment, almost as if you have forgotten what to do but eventually things will fall back into place and you will start feeling productive again. You don’t have to follow the very same routine at first, you can for instance have lunch outside for a change or bring dessert with you (something to look forward to).
5- Reorganize your desk
You will be surprised with what an organized desk can do, it can help you feel relaxed and content. You can even have some photographs printed out from your last vacation and place them in front of you for motivation and good vibes.
6- Embrace the post-vacation blues
It’s okay to still feel like you need more time to relax and unwind and it is okay to feel blue about the vacation coming to an end. But at a certain point, you will have to embrace how you feel and push yourself to working harder despite how you feel.
While it’s completely normal to feel upset, it’s also important to remember that there can always be another vacation in the near future.
