A Crazy Actor and A Cuckoo Virgo : A unique Combination named Omar El Saeed

It all started almost eight years ago, when this big, bad, yet funny, Omar El Saeed person landed a role in Kamla Abu Zikry’s film “Wahed/ Sifr” . After many auditions, finally the American university in Cairo graduate got his first acting break. The second step was even bigger, when actress/singer Bushra chose Omar for one of the leading roles in the film “678”; an important Egyptian film dealing with the issue sexual harassment. The film participated in many international film festivals and won many respectable awards.

Not a football guy, but he goes to the gym whenever he feels like it. Yet, a fresh Egyptian dinner is way more interesting for Omar than the gym. He likes reading for Belgium writer Amelie Nothomb. He predicts the author will win a Nobel Prize someday for her “extremely psychological and deeply philosophical books“.

The good news news is, Omar is still single; partially because he believes that relationships are such a fuss, and also because as he likes to put it “actors are crazy and difficult to live with, plus, I’m a Virgo man, which means that I’m basically nuts. Virgos are kind hearted, but they switch moods very quickly”.

Omar can be the brother, the boy next door, the struggling lover, or the gangster. Just like his role model, the Egyptian Legend Mahmoud Abdulaziz, Omar saidI want to be like Mahmoud abdeulaziz , you can’t sort him into to one type of role.” He wishes to play all shades of characters. Omar believes himself to be lucky for getting the chance to act alongside his favorite star Mahmoud Abdulaziz in “ Bab EL-KhaleqTV series in 2012.

I wish to play a role where I get to be Sherihan’s love interest”. When we asked Omar about love scenes, he had no preferences or restrictions. “I’d kiss anyone, no problem.” But he said that actors don’t kiss in films nowadays! He claims to not know the reason behind it, but in general, Omar believes everyone should be able to do whatever they wish to do.

He may sound tough, but his babyish smile definitely alters this impression in a matter of seconds. go ahead and check his full interview for more hilarious details. We laughed a lot and we hope that you do, too.
