Narrative Disruptors: Where Egypt’s Brightest Minds Gather To Influence

The Narrative PR Summit is the first conference of its kind to be created by Egyptians for Egyptians, the Summit brings real case studies to provide for an in-depth understanding and awareness of the market. Keynote speakers are of opinion leaders and key experts, in the field of PR and more.

It first began back in 2016 as Egypt’s first ever international summit, yet managed locally. It is organized by CC Plus which is a multi-disciplinary corporate communications firm, in an attempt to revolutionize the outdated PR practices into a more efficient way that drive our nation forward.

In order to achieve that, the Narrative Summit since its launch, has been the go-to platform for catching up with the brightest minds and biggest names in the field of PR and communication, bringing them in one place to share their success story and professional vision.

Despite it being organized locally, the Summit brings both local and international influencers in the fields of technology, arts, culture and investment.

This year the Narrative Summit is introducing the first edition of Narrative Disruptors, the event will take place on the 14th of April at the Nile Ritz-Carlton. It is set to bring a number of A-list names including Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman and Managing Director of e-finance, Blerta Aliko, UN WOMEN Country Representative in Egypt. Elizabeth Linder, Executive Director of Global Communications & External Affairs at Beautiful Destinations and many others prominent figures.

“We take it as a humbling responsibility upon ourselves to continue the legacy we began in 2016 to make Narrative PR Summit an ongoing milestone in Egypt’s development expedition and gather the experiences and recommendations of all field experts to further businesses and nation as a whole.”

The summit is also witnessing a talk by the pioneer in political communications in Egypt and the woman behind the presidential campaigns of Amr Moussa and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi; Lamia Kamel, who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of CC Plus, the multi-disciplinary corporate communications firm behind Narrative PR Summit.

Disruptive art! Asser Yassin, an Egyptian film and television actor, writer and producer chose to follow his true calling and passion by mere serendipity that revealed his talent and infatuation for acting when he was cast for a university play to replace an actor so the destiny took its course. In collaboration with some of the best Arab film directors, Asser was lead to memorable parts in many reputable films and TV series such as Diamond Dust, Messages from the Sea, Aswar Al Qamar, Rags & Tatters, Bebo wa Bashir, becoming a box office name. Asser has received Best Actor Award in Carthage Film Festival, Malmo Arab Film Festival and Festival International Cinema Mediterranean Tetouan. Aside from his acting career, Asser has also stepped behind the camera to direct music videos for some of the top local performers in Egypt. Fabrica’s ‘Queen Tribute’ Wins Best Music Video Award at MoziMotion in Netherlands

Egypt’s musical theater company Fabrica has won ‘Best Music Video‘ award for their ‘Mercury Rising: A Queen Tribute’ during the ninth edition of the MoziMotion Film Festival in the Netherlands.

The music video was released earlier in January following the release of “Bohemian Rhapsody” movie, the video was directed by Mohamed Koushi with the art direction and choreography of Omar Warda.

Music arrangement was prepared by Mohab Kaddah and it featured Fabrica’s singers: Alia Khaled, Nardine Reda, Farida Tamer; altos Hana Afifi, Laila Ashraf, Nathalie Alain; Ali Ballout, Adel Badawy, Omar Warda; basses Amir Zarkani, Mohab Kaddah and Mina Sami.

 

“What captured everybody’s attention was – and it shows that they’re theatre actors – the first, I would say, 90% of the first, it’s a continuous camera roll, it’s a one take. You go all the way to the end and if you mess up, you’ve got to start all over again.” said Ruben Kazantsev, MoziMotion co-founder.

The ninth edition of the festival began on October 5th and concluded last night, after hitting a new record of 4,000 participating films from more than 100 countries.

The Egyptian Medical Syndicate Elects For the First Time a Female Chairperson

Dr. Sherina Ghaleb, Cairo University Forensic Medicine and Toxicology professor has made history by becoming the very first woman to be elected for the position of chairperson of the Egyptian Doctors Syndicate. 

The midterm elections of the syndicate took place on Friday under the supervision of the National Authority of Administrative Prosecution, the election selected a chairperson and board members.

Dr Ghaleb has led so far an impressive medical career, serving as Vice President of the Islamic Countries Forensic Medicine Organization and Secretary General of the Arab Union of Forensics and Toxicology. She also served as President of the International Association of Law and Forensic Sciences and is one of the founding members of the Royal College of Physicians’ Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine in London.

Egyptian Movie ‘Leil Khargy’ Wins Best Film at Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden

The Egyptian movie Exterior/ Nigh ‘Leil Khargy‘ won the ‘Best Film’ award in the feature competition at Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden.

 

The movie is directed by Ahmed Abdalla and starsSherif Desouky, Karim Kassem, Mona Hala, Basma, Ahmed Malek, and Ahmed Magdy. The comedy drama follows the lives of Toto who is a sex worked, Moe, a playboy and an Islamic cab driver called Mostafa.

The three of them walk a journey of life-changing events and faces different facets of life in Cairo, as they face uttering situations of sexism and classism. This is an attempt of the director’s vision of portraying the complex life and picture of human of Cairo.

The opening ceremony of Malmo Arab Film Festival’s ninth edition took place on October 4 and concluded yesterday night with the awards granting ceremony.
