Jazz Tales Music Festival Kicks Off Tonight

Music Heads, REJOICE! Jazz Tales is happening tonight and for the next four days, blessing all of us with  different tunes from all over the world. Jazz Tales is a one of a kind music festival organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in cooperation with ElSawy Wheel in Cairo. Furthermore, The second edition of the festival will start today by offering few workshops for local musicians, any musician can register by filling out a registration form.

 

Jazz Tales, Second Edition!

The opining concert is taking place at the Great Hall of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina tomorrow night. The Great Hall will witness the first appearance of the American Female Jazz singer, Halie Loren; along with the Egyptian band, Wust ElBalad.

Halie Loren tours all around the world, and this time she landed in Egypt to bless us with her famous Jazz originals and classical covers, she will be sharing the stage with the Egyptian soft rock band, Wust El-Balad. In addition, Wust El-Balad has just released a new album called “Bantalony ElJeans“; never mind that Wust El-Balad kept us waiting for 3 years to release new music; not to mention that “Karakeb“gained so much popularity and recognision .

Jazz Tales – Second Edition

What’s more, the second edition of the Jazz Tales festival will host different musicians and performers from Egypt, USA, Canada, Switzerland and Netherlands; the performances include bands, solo artists and orchestras.

Egypt’s largest Metro Station in The Middle East Inaugurated

Heliopolis metro station, Egypt’s largest station in the Middle East, has been inaugurated this morning and is ready to receive commuters.

The station is built on a space of 10,000 square metre which makes it the biggest station in the Middle East region, according to the transportation ministry

The construction of the station has began back in 2015 and the station will connect to Cairo International Airport and Al-Salam city.

The new metro station will help reduce around two million commutes above ground, which in return will reduce the traffic congestion. Also, citizens will save the cost of more expensive mean of transportation.

Another point worth mentioning is that the station will include automated machines to purchase tickets directly, in addition to a digital signage system to guide passengers.

El-Sisi Returns Home Following His Participation in UNGA

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi returned to Cairo this morning following his participation in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

Earlier today, Bassam Rady the presidential spokesman posted several pictures of the president upon his arrival to the airport and being greeted by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the Defense Minister General Mohamed Zaki, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel-Aal, and the Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik, alongside other senior officials.

Pictures also show a number of citizens who were present in the airport and gathered to welcome back El-Sisi to his homeland.

During the President’s visit to the U.S., a number of meetings were held with his counterparts and UN officials in order to discuss means of developing cooperation between the two countries, in addition to tackling issues of common interest.

Egypt to Establish Fourth Terminal at Cairo International Airport

The Egyptian government announced its plan on building a fourth terminal at Cairo International Airport after reaching an estimated capacity of 75% this year.

The Cairo Airport Company, the operating organization of the airport, has already drawn up the needed studies to build the terminal which hopes to increase the capacity and reduce the traffic on the other three terminals, chair Ahmed Fawzy said in a statement on Friday.

Besides the new terminal, Fawzy revealed a series of development projects that will take place as well, including an upgrade to Terminal 1 and updates to the airport’s baggage handling system.
