Dryve: Egypt’s First Digitized Rental Platform

Published

on

‘Dryve’ is an aspiring new application that is soon to dominate the car rental market in Egypt; as it is considered to be a leading and first of a kind peer-to-peer car sharing platform.

The digitized application is expected to substitute rental companies. The application provides a win-win situation for both the car owners and rentals, as it allows ‘car owners’ to make an extra cash through renting their cars, while giving ‘dryvers‘ an access to a variety of vehicles to rent.

The rate of the renting is below those of traditional car rental companies, and ‘dryvers‘ also have the luxury of choosing the car category that they want. So if you have a very special occasion coming up, you can easily rent a luxurious car.

Gamal Aboul Enein, CEO and Co-Founder of Dryve, believes that “Dryve opens up the doors for car owners to easily yield investment from assets that they use only 3 percent of the time.”

Whether you’re looking for a way to make extra money, or are just in the lookout for a car in a good shape to rent, ‘Dryve‘ has your back.

Not only this, but ‘Dryve‘ can also rent your car to certified Uber drivers who doesn’t own a car. So again, a win-win situation.

Finally, the application also offers the very first electronic insurance through Axa Egypt, so you don’t have to worry about your car.

Instagram Is Fighting Back Against Bullies Through New Anti-bullying Features

Published

By

Instagram is once again trying to tackle the issue of cyber-bullying and fight back against bullies.

The company announced two new anti-bullying features; first one warns you when you post a hateful comment, and the second allows users to restrict certain people from publicly commenting.

These features were announced before during the F8 conference, where the company said that it was working on new warning labels.

While the feature doesn’t prevent people from actually leaving the comment, it encourages them to rethink what they are saying before posting.

“Are you sure you want to post this?” the message says. “We’re asking people to rethink comments that seem similar to others that have been reported.”

Instagram also added a new “restrict” feature that can be very helpful to those who are already facing bullying or harassment from certain people. The restrict feature can be seen as a middle ground between blocking and ignoring, having someone restricted will deprive them from leaving any comments, their messages will be directed straight to requests and they won’t be able to see your online status.

The feature is “testing in select countries,” according to Instagram, but will be widely available later this year.

Bullying has long been an issue especially for the photo-sharing app, now that it is growing more and more popular. A recent report even showed that bullying is more prevalent on Instagram than on Facebook, where users have to use their real names.

Hateful comments can be seen everywhere, privacy is limited especially for influencers and celebrities, so having those two features is certainly a smart move towards creating a safer environment.

According to the BBC, the features are being rolled out first for English-speaking Instagram users and shall be applied soon to other languages.

Spotify Officially Launches Its ‘Lite’ App

Published

Music is meant to be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of your network connectivity, data plan, and whether or not you have the latest phone and because Spotify understands this, they have introduced their latest feature Spotify Lite.

Lite is a small, fast, and simplified version of their unparalleled music experience that works much like the main Spotify app. Users will still be able to search and play their favorite songs and artists, save them, share with others, discover new music, and enjoy playlists made just for them, but with a few extra features making it ideal for older devices and operating systems.

SMALL. FAST. JUST AS LOUD.

Spotify Lite was built from the ground up based on user feedback from around the world, allowing millions more to enjoy the world’s best music experience — especially in areas with limited bandwidth and phone storage,” says Kalle Persson, Senior Product Manager at Spotify. Lite can be downloaded separately, both for Free and Spotify Premium users, and used either alongside or independently from the main Spotify app on all Android phones running version 4.3 or higher.

Spotify Lite will allow you to easily control your data and storage as it’s only 10 MB, which makes it quick to install and load while offering the same great listening experience that lets you discover, play, and enjoy millions of songs. Spotify Lite also comes with the ability to set a data limit and get a notification when you reach it. This way, you’ll be able to focus on finding your next favorite song without worrying about data.

You won’t have to worry about running low on storage because Spotify Lite also allows you to control your cache and clear it with a single tap.

Spotify Lite is now available in 36 markets across Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa on Google Play with more markets and features to follow as we continue to improve the Spotify Lite experience.
