The organizing committee of this year’s African Nations Cup had first announced the launch of a new application for booking tickets, and then they further announced that fan IDs will also be mandatory for entrance to the tournament’s matches.

This fan ID is a unique identification document that will identify a fan registered in the system of Tazkarti, and fans must apply for it in order to attend matches.

According to Sports Minister, Ashraf Sobhi, one fan ID can give access to five people; seeing that its holder can buy up to five tickets to a single match.

You receive this fan ID for free, upon purchasing your first ticket.

Furthermore, Sobhi told Al Masry Al Youm that this new system of purchasing tickets will continue even after the tournament is concluded, for all future football events, which includes the 2019/2020 season of the Egyptian Premier League.

This system has proven its success in Russia for the 2018 World Cup, which gave the ministry the motive to implement it as well during the African Nations Cup and afterwards.
