6 Ways You Can Stay Fit During Work

We all hope to magically lose that extra weight, quit the junk food and Hashtag our photos with healthy can be sexy, but let’s be honest, healthy isn’t really that sexy, however, it is a necessity!

A common excuse is that staying in shape is hard when you spend most of the time at work, and you have got no option but to satisfy your craving with all the temptations surrounding you.

This is unfortunately true, and I have suffered the same issue until I was too sacred to stand on a scale, and so here are the things I have done to ensure I stay fit during work and not give in to my cravings.

1. Eat sensibly.

First things first, is to quit all the extra and unnecessary sweets that you munch on throughout the day. The next step is to say no to all the junk food, and practice self control. Office colleagues may impose a huge temptation on you, but the key is to learn to say no! Also moderation is important, you don’t have to give up completely on fast food, just limit its consumption.

You can start your day by a good, fulfilling breakfast; that will help you stay full till midday and you won’t feel the urge to consume munchies. Always keep fruits nearby, and avoid unhealthy, greasy food.

Snacks are crucial, we know, so you may want to snack on healthy alternatives, such as fruits, nuts, granola bars or healthy smoothies.

2. Drink plenty of water.

I often forget to drink water, as I get busy with work so I lose track of how much water I have consumed. In order to avoid that, you can get the large water bottle, and keep it in front of you on the desk.

If you’re not a huge fan of water, you can have juicy fruits instead, this will also keep your body from dehydration.

3- Bring your own food

Bringing your own lunch to work will force you to refuse takeouts, it is also cleaner and much much healthier. It doesn’t have to be a boring meal, any homemade meal will make a great substitute to junk food.

4- Take the stairs

If you don’t have time for the gym, then the simplest form of exercise would do. Skip the elevator, and start taking the stairs instead! And if you get to have lunch break outside the office, choose a nearby restaurant and walk to it.

5- Motivation is the Key!

We all get motivated at first, eager to lose the weight and start this healthy lifestyle, but it doesn’t take long that we lose the motivation and we go back to our old habits. Because motivation is the key, start following pages on Instagram that posts healthy recipes, body transformations, tips on how to how to stay fit, etc.

6- Mind over body

Choose to think positively about this change, believe that it is a better lifestyle, and not something that you are forced to do. Think of how good it is to not feel bloated all the time! Sometimes, we eat because we’re bored or upset, understanding this and fighting the unnecessary urge to eat is important, following your mind and not what your body tells you, is what will keep you going.

Ministry of Culture Considers Throwing Events At Cairo Opera House

For those of you longing for some outdoor activities and for events to take place once again, the Ministry of Culture is working hard on grating your wishes very soon.

The Ministry of Culture is currently preparing a study on the possibility of holding events in the open spaces of the Cairo Opera House, to be able to carry on with the cultural program while still maintaining the necessary precautionary guidelines.

According to Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem, it’s quite important to throw artistic and cultural events as they benefit the public taste and spread awareness regarding community issues.

But then of course, all precautionary measures and safety guidelines will be maintained to ensure the safety of artists, employees and the general public.

Abdel Dayem recently held a meeting with President of the Opera House Magdy Saber, followed by another meeting with head of the Cultural Production Sector Khaled Galal, head of the Artistic House Ismail Mokhtar and others to go over several projects that will take place once this horrific pandemic is over and life goes back to normal.

Abdel Dayem also added that new theater productions will showcase the stories of the armed forces, the police, and medical professionals and their efforts to combat coronavirus, in a sincere way of expressing gratitude.

We really can’t wait for life and activities to go back to the way they were and we have faith in the Ministry’s efforts in keeping us positive during this tough time.

Number of Coronavirus Cases Expected to Hit A Peak in 2 Weeks

According to a presidential advisor, Egypt will hit a peak of coronavirus infections in two weeks while another hypothetical model reviewed by the Minister of Scientific Research is suggesting that Egypt may start to record lower number of cases starting June 7th.

During the International Virtual Conference of Tanta University on Wednesday, Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs Mohamed Tag El-Din urged all institutions to join their forces against the novel COVID-19 virus.

The conference “Scientific Research Confronting COVID-19 and Future of the World after this Pandemic” ended on Thursday and discussed several stages of the virus.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated earlier this month that cases might reach an estimate of 20K by May 28th and then gradually record lower numbers starting June 7th.

Just yesterday, Egypt recorded its highest number of coronavirus cases ever reaching more than 1,000 cases in just one day and 29 deaths.

Starting tomorrow, curfew regulations will be eased but we urge all citizens that with the expected peak to remain at home. Safe and sound.
