It should be acknowledged that El Abd has been upping their game lately with new items included such as their cookies (that are sold in markets by the way) and this Eid, their Kahk is a must try.
The prices are quite reasonable, as the classic range of plain, agameya or malban is for only 110EGP per kilo each, while nuts and pistachio start from 160EGP to 170EGP. You certainly have to try their new range of biscuits that come in different flavors, costing only 95EGP per kilo.
After Nola blessed us with some new Ramadan innovations and goodies, for this Eid, it is offering boxes of assorted Eid treats. The box include plain, and date kahk, vanilla, and chocolate petite fours and plain biscuits.
Boxes are available in two sizes, the one kilo box is for 160EGP and the two kilo costs 295EGP.
Highly recommended from our behalf. The texture and taste of their Kahk is really good, and they come in all the flavors you may crave. Prices are from 135EGP to 200EGP!
This place needs to be praised and acknowledged for their tremendous effort in making Kahk with very low calories which is suitable for diabetic patients!
The following post explains the ingredients and the amount of fats in the Kahk.

Who can ever resist Koueider? Their classic range that includes plain, malban, and date at the price of 120LE. As for the walnut and pistachio, they cost 185LE and 240LE.
Petite fours range between 130LE and 160LE, while plain biscuits are at the price of 110LE.
TBS is offering limited kahk collection that includes only two flavors but on the other hand, they are offering plenty of Eid treats. A little pricey to be honest, because a box of treats cost at least 300 EGP.
Last but not least in our recommendation list is Coppermelt, the place has always been known for their premium quality products. This season, they are offering a collection including flavours such as plain (140LE), agameya (165LE), malban (150LE), and walnut (250LE), while petite fours range between 150LE and 170LE, and plain biscuit is 130LE per kilo.
There are of course many other places such as Dukes and Sale Sucre, but these are the previously mentioned ones are based on experience and reviews.
Apparently You Need to Start Saving Up For Kahk!
Ramadan is almost over, and Eid is coming your way, meaning that Kahk Season is finally upon us! But it also means that businesses will still find their way into making money over the holidays.
One of the most well known paisteries shops in Egypt has announced the prices of their Kahk this year, and people are going nuts over their unreasonable prices!
Apparently, they had to announce this early; so people can start saving up from now.
Despite everything, I do appreciate the sense of humor of Egyptians, and here’s a glimpse of how some people are reacting to the news…

Even though Le Carnival has proved over the years, that their quality is a top notch one. The price remains quite hefty, and it doesn’t make sense to have to pay such an amount, even if the texture of the Kahk is a good one, and it doesn’t leave any unpleasant after taste because of their premium ingredients. It is still, Way.Too.Much.
Still, I don’t think any sane person would pay this amount, especially if there are several substitutes, and very good ones as well.
For instance, Nola is offering a Kilo of Kahk and Petite Four for only 160 EGP. However, some claim that they taste more like a cookie than kahk.
There is also Dukes, who also offers premium products, and they as well, are celebrating Eid earlier this year.
Another recommendation is Sedra, this is their third year in a row to be offering excellent Kahk, it is consistent with quite reasonable prices.
The thing is there are countless of other options, but one question remains, when will businesses stop taking advantage of the holidays? It is already apparent in Ramadan, what with all the tents, Iftar set menus and expensive Sohour.
Now, they are stealing the joy of the holiday, to earn more money.
Top Reviewed Places For Iftar This Ramadan
No one really likes taking risks, especially when it comes to food, and especially when it’s Ramadan. That’s why choosing wisely the right place for Iftar means absolutely everything.
And let’s be honest, if you are giving up on a fulfilling home cooked meal for a pricey one, you have got to do it right.
The following suggested list for places to have Iftar in, are bloggers’ recommendation based on their real experiences and professional taste buds, so enjoy!
I think this was the most recommended places of all, it was mentioned severally by a number of foodies. Reviews praise their variety of items, and how most of them are perfect which rarely happens in open buffets.
Recommendations for appetizers were to try their Vine leaves, Fattoush, makdous and Manakesh, as for the main dishes, it was recommended to try the Kofteh with tahini or the grills (kebab and shish), both were really good.
Their desserts buffet included nabulsya, halawet jebn , Om Ali and a variety of eastern desserts, fresh fruits.
One blogger didn’t recommend going on weekends though.
Their newest branch in the extension of Mall of Arabia ‘The Park’ is the most ideal one, because the Park itself sets a lovely mood. The place offers an open buffet of salads and soups. But make sure you be there before time, as it gets devoured in no time.
Their shrimp konafa is a must try, and also their newest addition, the melted cheesy Aubergine gratin!
Great value of money because of their variety in food, they also have a selection of seafood. The place is a perfect combination between a cozy cafe and a great restaurant.
They are upping the cheese experience this Ramadan, so if you are a lover of cheese, pasta and yummy food, then they are the place for you. Especially if you’re looking to change the usual menu for Iftar.
The place also makes killer Sohor, not for the light-hearted though.
Also at the Park in Mall of Arabia, Villa Caracas is an ideal go-to restaurant, especially if it’s a family gathering. The place itself is heavenly, which sets the perfect mood for Iftar. The place has always been known for their delightful Lebanese experience, and well you know, if it’s not an Egyptian culinary that you are going for, then Lebanese it is!
