Tiktok

Tiktok comes on top of the list and as much as we all might be ashamed to admit, it turns out the app is so much fun and a great time killer, we blame it on celebrities for making us so addicted.

Also, try to include your family members in some of the videos, the results are hilarious!

House Party

House party is an app that took over the entire world in just a few weeks! It is a social media app that allows you to video-chat and play games with your friends, the closest thing you will get to hanging out with your buddies!

Google Duo

A bit similar to house party minus the games, Google Duo is the highest quality video calling app, It’s simple, reliable, and works on smartphones, tablets and on the web. It will help bring all your loved ones in a group chat and it is also ideal for work conference calls.

Down Dog

Down Dog is a great application for exercising, it will get you a brand new yoga practice every time you come to your mat! Unlike other apps that pre-record videos, this one won’t make you repeat the same workout over and over again.

AND it’s free until May the 1st! We love apps that understand what we’re currently going through.

Headspace

With everything we’re going through, meditation is truly much needed to help us pass time while simultaneously managing stress. Headspace offers courses, ranging from the basics of meditation to others that help you stay positive, like “Happiness.” Or shorter ones, like “Breathe,” that encourage you to take a quick 1-3 minutes from the day to relax. Download the app and discover the rest!

Psych

Another game that you can play with your friends online, you choose from a variety of fun categories in which each player makes up fake answers to real trivia questions. You get points for guessing the right answer, and for each other player you PSYCH! into choosing yours.

Google News and Apple News

With something new happening everyday, you need to remain caught up with what’s happening around the world and the easiest way to do so is by installing Google News and Apple News. Both also show you the biggest stories of the day from an assortment of the best news outlets, so you can always be up to date on what’s going on.

Kindle

For all the book worms out there, take advantage of the time you now have thanks to the quarantine and catch up on the latest reads through Kindle! The books cost less than the physical copy, and there are plenty of font sizes and formats to change so the book is always easy to read. It’s free for iPhone or Android.

Wordscapes

This one is for all the geeks out there who like to challenge themselves! Wordscapes is the word hunt game, it’s a perfect fit for fans of crossword or word anagram games, combining best of word find games and crossword puzzles.

Technology is indeed a life saver in a time like this but always remember that going old school can be fun too! Puzzle games, card and board games are still a great way to bond with the family and kill quarantine time. What matters the most here is for you to make the best out of your stay!

Will Shooting of Ramadan Series Come to a Halt Resulting In Cancellation of Shows?

Egypt is now facing a lock-down and is under nationwide curfew to limit the spread of the coronavirus, but before this crisis occurred, the annual Ramadan TV series were still being filmed. So the question here remains, with all the ongoing troubles, will shooting come to a halt?

Well, the Egyptian Actors Syndicate stressed recently that there hasn’t been any official decision regarding a ban to film any series so far, but with the ongoing precautionary measures, the situation is constantly changing.

Before announcing the curfew, the syndicate has postponed shooting scenes that require/ include a large gathering of people.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Producer and Screenwriter, Mohamed Hefzy has indeed suspended shooting of the Arabic Horror Series ‘Paranormal’ as a precautionary measure to maintain the safety of the crew.

On the other hand, a number of Egyptian artists are asking those in charge to actually suspend filming until all of this comes to an end, for at least a period of 15 days! Rania Youssef, Screenwriter Mariam Naoum, and Filmmaker Yousry Nasrallah are all on the same page regarding this issue.

Things are rapidly changing which is of course affecting the media scene in Egypt, and as much as it will hurt a lot of people to have their favorite series canceled, it is indeed an important measure that has to be taken.

From what we know so far, most of the shootings are currently on hold due to the curfew that limited shooting hours, and we’re waiting to hear more from the syndicate…
