Hilary Duff Confirms the Return of ‘Lizzy McGuire’ In a New Disney Series

Published

By

15 years after the series concluded, Hillary Duff announced on social media that her character Lizzy McGuire will be returning to the screen for a sequel of what used to be our favorite show, only this time she will be working her dream job instead of navigating life as a teenager.

Duff, who is now a mother to a seven-year-old son and a nine-month old daughter, wrote on Instagram, “SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works! I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl…and into her 30’s.”

The new streaming service Disney+, which is premiering on November 12, will be the channel hosting the show.

The streaming service will launch with the debuts of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and The Mandolorian. There’s currently no premiere date for Lizzie McGuire available, but we’ll certainly keep you posted!

We can’t wait to see this new version of Lizzie who sure is no longer a clumsy schoolgirl, but rather a 30-year-old millennial navigating her way around the big apple!

“Lizzie has also grown up, she’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget,” Duff said.

“She has her dream job, the perfect life right now working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator. “ She added.

The rest of the cast joining Duff still remains a mystery so we don’t know yet who from the original cast will be joining this comeback, and we can’t help but wonder if we will be seeing more of Gordo, Miranda, Matt or Lizzie’s parents.
