This is merely a reminder of all the things that we, as busy, stupid humans tend to forget sometimes. It’s important to know that there are things in life that we’re allowed to do even if we’re being advised otherwise. Because no two human beings are the same and everyone deserves the chance to live the way they want to, the way they need to.

1. You’re Allowed to Hurt
If it hurts, then it hurts. There’s no way around it. Stop trying to cover up for how you feel because someone has told you that whatever’s hurting you isn’t really that much of a deal. They are not you. Your brains do not function the same way. Let it hurt until it doesn’t anymore and then it’s time for you to heal. But don’t spend your life dwelling on your suffering. Let things take their course. Take as much time as you need. But do not lose yourself in the pain.

2. You’re Allowed to be Sensitive
Does it sometimes get to the point where it takes one bad comment in the form of a joke to break you? You’re not crazy. You’re sensitive and the word “sensitive” isn’t an offense, even if it’s being used against you. They tell you to smile about it, to join in and laugh at the joke that you don’t even get. Sometimes, our emotions do get the best of us even if we really don’t want them to. And that’s okay. If someone really cares about you and you make it clear to them that you’re not cool with certain things that they do or with certain things that they say, then they would definitely stop.

3. You’re Allowed to Speak Up
You know how sometimes, in specific conversations with people, you get the feeling that you shouldn’t really contribute nor add to them because it wouldn’t really matter if they listen to what you have to say or not? Well, don’t. That’s ridiculous. You’re allowed to say whatever you want, whenever you want as long as you’re not harming anyone else by it. Your words do matter and you are important even if at times, you feel like a complete nobody. Give yourself a Goddamn chance.

5. You’re Allowed to Want Things
There will come a time in your life when someone will make you feel like you do not deserve what you want. And when that happens, you should either give them the finger or give them the damn finger. One works to get what they want, and if that’s the case with you then fuck what anyone else thinks. If you’re still in doubt, try to really, deeply, thoroughly think about that person’s core intentions behind their rejection of your wants. And trust me, “They’re doing it because they love me” isn’t the answer.

6. You’re Allowed to Laugh
Has someone made you feel like you’re annoying AF because you have a loud laugh? I mean, we all have our little perks that other people might find annoying but goddammit, if you have a loud laugh, then work it! Laugh as loud as you like, as much as you like because the world is already too sad and we can definitely use a little bit of laughter.

7. You’re Allowed to Cut Someone Off
We’ve all done it and if someone says otherwise, then they’re probably lying. Cutting people off is a necessity in life, nothing less. Sometimes, a relationship can get too toxic that the only right thing to do is to cut them off. If you don’t want somebody in your life anymore, then you fucking don’t. Don’t feel bad about it. And if they can’t take a hint, that’s their problem, not yours.

8. You’re Allowed to Have Space
Do you always feel like you’re being watched? Be it by a family member, a partner, or even a best friend. It might be that they try to persuade you into believing that checking your phone, calling you up 18 times a day or tagging along every time you decide to leave the house is a way of showing their love and affection to you. WRONG. To hell with that. The right term for that kind of behavior is “Obsession”.

9. You’re Allowed to Lose
Not every race needs to be won. Aight, too deep. But, for real, though. You don’t have to be the best at everything. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You don’t have to be so damn hard on yourself every time you make a mistake or screw something up. Give the perfectionist in you a little time to rest because you need it if you want to get back up.

10. You’re Allowed a Break
You REALLY REALLY REALLY are. That whole “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” thing is absurd and honestly, just idiotic. Your brain needs a break. Your body needs a break. Your whole needs a break. Enough pushing yourself to the edge.
