Karl Lagerfeld, Iconic Chanel Designer dies at 85




Yesterday the fashion world has lost one of the remarkable figures in the industry, Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic German Designer and creative director for Chanel and Fend.

Lagerfeld has worked tirelessly for LVMH’s Fendi and his own label, up until his death. And his designs are known to have added yet another charm to the label.

Karl Lagerfeld had been designing for Fendi since 1965 and had been at the creative helm of Chanel since 1983. All of this, while still maintaining to design collections for his own brand.

He changed his name as he believed Lagerfeld sounded “more commercial”.

Lagerfeld was known to encourage young and new designers, like Victoria Beckham – who has praised him for his kindness and generosity.

It’s true Lagerfeld has left our world, but his work and memory will forever be deeply embedded in the hearts of many, and that was apparent in the many profound tributes sent his way.

“Today the world lost a giant among men,” said the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, Anna Wintour.

Industry heavyweights, celebrities and even political figures, have all issued heartfelt tributes.

Egyptian Artist Brings Back 1920s Fashion Today




Mohsen Othman, who is an Egyptian photographer has brought back the fashion scene of Egypt from the 1920s in a very artistic manner. Othman created an album which he named ‘Lost in Time,’ that featured an Egyptologist Collin Darrell where she is portrayed in different scenes that bring history back to life.

Othman is especially interested in the changes that fashion has gone through, and he believes that “just like Egyptology, fashion is an eloquent witness of the changes that have taken place around the corners of this iconic country.” Scroll down and take a look at these amazing photos!
