Why We Can’t Wait for Spotify Middle East

Published

Spotify

Since the news have been circulating all over the internet. We have been waiting anxiously to download the application legally on out phones!

The world’s leading music streaming service is expanding to MENA by launching in UAE later this year or earlier the next year. Spotify making it to the Middle East after all these years is probably the best thing happening for music lovers here; and here is why:

No more jail break:

We are all guilty of attempting to download Spotify illegally. Not because we don’t believe in copyrights, but because we like the application too much we had to find a way out. With Spotify making it here, we won’t have to risk the security and privacy of our phones.

One personal account:

Some of us had to go through the hustle of creating a different account each month to be able use the music service; we have already lost count how many identities we have created so far!

Every track is available:

What is so great about Spotify that you can find literally any track you would like to listen to anytime. Also, with premium subscription, you can play all your favorite tracks with no ads

Celebrities playlists:

Celebrities are in love with Spotify just like us, they take the time to create playlists with their favorite tracks and it is available for everyone to go through. And because you can tell a lot about a person from your playlist, you can as well listen to your friends and lovers’ tracks.

We can’t wait no more, Spotify

GOT Fans Start a Petition Demanding a Full Remake of Season 8

If you haven’t yet watched the latest episode of GOT then don’t through with this article, because spoilers lie ahead!

Even though episode 5 aired days ago, people still don’t seem to get over what happened during this horrific episode. They surely can’t accept that the breaker of chains turned mad, and ruined everything for us.

Now, people are taking their anger to a whole new level, where a new Change.org petition is circulating from a Night King–loving fan named Dylan D, asking HBO to remake the ENTIRE season ‘with competent writers’ instead of Thrones ShowrunnersDavid Benioff and D. B. Weiss.

“David Benioff and D. B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e., the books) to fall back on,” Dylan’s call to action reads. “This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

The petition has been up for less than a week now and it’s already gotten almost 278,135 signatures from equally annoyed fans!

Here the link for the petition, for all the angry fans out there who are demanding the same!

The war between telecom companies’ ads in Ramadan is as fierce as it has been for years, and on the first day, we brought popcorn as we sat eagerly to watch each company; as it unleashes their creativity to win the competition.

They all played it smartly; by bringing the audience’s favorite celebrities, and playing on the emotional side of people. Well, not all of them though!

While Vodafone took us on a nostalgic journey in the life of Al Hadaba, and the rejoice of bringing together family and friends.

Orange focused on the power of small gestures and kind words; which aligns perfectly with Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Etisalat took a quite different turn, and brought together Mohamed Ramadan and Van Dam. The company chose to feature Egypt’s most popular artist, who has been creating a huge buzz, and his Youtube channel is reaching billions of viewers.

It was indeed a smart move from Etisalat, even though the ad only relates to Ramadan in the very last sentence, but still chose to promote for their ad; by using a popular artist. And to make things even more interesting, and in order for the ad to be different than previous ones, Etisalat brought the international famed artist, Van Dam.

Now, with an astounding effort in visual effects, a smart choice of a celebrity who digitally, has a huge number of followers, Etisalat succeeded in reaching the highest number of views on Facebook with over the 7 million views, so far!

Coming in second place is Orange’s ad with a 4.3 million views, and coming in last, surprisingly, is Vodafone with 3.8 millions views.

We’re waiting to see the results on Youtube, which so far, the numbers of views are quite equivalent to one another.

Grey’s anatomy latest episode “Silent All These Years” that was aired Thursday night, had received tons of praise from fans after showing an extensive detailed look at the procedure that is done to rape victims during the rape kit exam.

The episode focused on a rape victim survivor called Abby, who comes to the hospital with a scar on her face. She is taken care of by Jo who later on, discovers signs of abuse all over the patient’s body. Giving the history of Jo’s abusive relationship with her husband, she jumps to the conclusion that the woman is being physically abused by her husband.

However, the patient shortly reveals that she was attacked and raped after a night out in which drinking occurred, and for that reason, she doesn’t want to report it. Fearing the usual blaming and judgments that are usually set against rape victims.

“We all know if I do that kit, it ends up in the back of some police station, ignored for years, while I sit there wondering when the bomb will go off, waiting to see if a jury of my peers will believe a woman who wore a skirt a few inches too short, who had a few cocktails too many at a bar last night after having a fight about laundry with her husband,” Abby emotionally declared when the doctors asked her to do the kit exam.

“And you know the tequila I drank will make it my fault, and whoever did this to me, whatever he drank, that’ll be his excuse,” she added.

The revelation, her words, the pain in her eyes, all portrayed what women actually go through everyday.

fortunately, Jo was able to talk her into taking the exam, encouraging her to speak up, convincing her that what happened is and never will be her fault.

After the kit is administered, all the female doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial line the hallway of the hospital, as Abby is wheeled into surgery, silently offering their solidarity and support in what has been one of the most powerful episodes of Grey’s Anatomy.

“Making scenes like this is what Shondaland is all about,” Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes tweeted on Friday. “So proud.”

The powerful scene of the detailed rape kit exam almost didn’t make it to the episode, Shonda Rhimes reveals that she has fought with ABC channel to keep the scene; as it is a moment that should be witnessed by all as it is n accurate treatment of sexual assault survivors.

The creators worked with RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, in order to make the content and language of the episode as accurate and sensitive as possible; which was indeed successful and touched millions of viewers.
